REFLECTIONS

This series explores the moment when looking becomes conscious rather than automatic. The photographs begin with a simple intervention: waterfront landscapes are rotated 180 degrees. The scene remains recognizable, yet something feels wrong. There is a brief interval in which the eye accepts the image while the mind tries to understand it.

A landscape seen many times can become newly beautiful when the habitual way of reading it is interrupted. What might normally be absorbed quickly becomes abstract: fields of color, texture and light. The images hover between landscape and abstraction, reality and reflection.
